think now

In today's age of digital media we have created a self inflicted ouroboros of consumption. We must constantly scroll and not truly digest what we are consuming. The most important thing about media consumption now is to turn off the brain and just let the dopamine of flashing lights hit our retinas and move on to the next before a thought can generate. Now not everything we consume is bad media, that being relative of one's opinion, and that is the very thing I take issue with. Our own opinion on things must be automated, filtered, and approved of. If we are to have an opinion we must first double check with the experts on what is the correct thoughts to have on this subject matter before we can come to our own conclusions because we believe we cannot afford to be wrong in the digital age.
This is not an issue when approaching things of scientific or universal hard facts or to even possibly broaden our viewpoint on matters we have verry little knowledge of but what of the humanities? The arts and humanities, it is such a subjective world that we can just go off just our own thoughts and feelings at that moment in time when approaching it. What is important is that they are of our own. To say how we feel about something honestly and not to be afraid of how others may react. An absolute freedom, its all our own and that's all that really matters when it comes to things like opinions. In conclusion don't be afraid to voice your own thoughts on things because that's what begins an actual conversation of true substance.
